The aspect of insurance is of vital importance for Atlas Mexicana. No company can guarantee a risk-free move, due to the number of outside factors which can affect a relocation, whether it be local or international or anything in-between. For this reason, we require that every move be insured prior to pickup. In the case of private customers, the insurance must be obtained via Atlas Mexicana; in the case of corporate, diplomatic or governmental shipments, the insurance coverage is frequently handled directly by the employer of the person moving.

In the case of Atlas Mexicana, all insurance coverage for household goods, personal effects and vehicles is handled through the U.S.-based insurance company, Travel Guard. The advantage of using this firm is that they are specialists in household goods and provide a very complete insurance package for the customer, including the certificate, claim form, storage extension form and information regarding the policy itself and procedures to follow in the event of a claim. This package allows the owner of the goods to quickly and directly proceed in any situation, with no need to go the moving company for added instructions or information. The shipper can easily communicate with Travel Guard, which is located in California. Fortunately, Atlas Mexicana has a very low claims ratio, but this insurance coverage gives each customer total peace of mind during transit.

In each case where insurance is issued, we simply ask the owner of the goods to fill out, sign and provide us with the Travel Guard valuation form. All the insurance coverage which we issue is all-risk. In the case of domestic shipments there is a small deductible, and in the case of international movements no deductible at all.
